Frustration!
For the last several days I have been hungry almost all the time. (and it's not head hunger) I am only about 4 months PO and there have been days lately that I have eaten around 1500 calories. I am quickly looseing confidence in myself and wondering if food is going to defeat me once again. Have any of you all had this problem? Did it go away or were you able to do something to solve the problem? I can't begin to tell you how upsetting this is too me and I find myself wondering if this is going to work out at all.

Kallen,
That can be frustrating! Try eating smaller meals throughout the day when the munchies seem to hit. I don't know when you've been authorized to eat raw veggies, but carrots and other crunchy good things might help.
Check with your dr too - or your nutritionist. See what they might suggest. In the meantime - when you think you are hungry drink a full glass of water. I hope this helped a little bit - we are all here to support you.

I don't know any answers since I haven't had the surgery by Dr. Webb yet but it is definately one of my fears also. I have heard that the hunger could be from not enough protein. Are you drinking the shakes? I agree you should call the doctors office or maybe Susan and as some advice. Don't get discouraged. What about weight loss? Is that still happening? good luck and let us know how you are doing.

Kallen, this has happened to me also. One thing I have found is, that I need to be always vigilant, always on the lookout for what I am eating. First check your drinking habits, hunger is one of the first sign of dehydration. Are you drinking water all day long,(water or crystal lite, not caffeeine). When you get hungry, think about when was the last time you drank any water. Are you eating more carbs, carbs burn off faster and make you hungry faster. If you know you are eating the right stuff, and drinking plenty of water, as a last resort try shrinking you pouch, go back to liquids for a couple of days, drinking just protein shakes, and after a couple days of this, then start back on small measured meals. I say all of this from experience, I have been, and still occassionally go where you are at now. Good luck, Steve
Protein snacks (cheese, almonds if you can eat them, jerky) will help. The carbohydrate snacks/meals will only increase your hunger. I always went for a short walk when I thought I was hungry. In increases the endomorphins and seratonin which gives a satisfisied feeling. I agree, 4 months out and 1500 calories a day seems like a lot. Good luck.

Thank you so much to everyone *****sponded to my post. I really means alot to me that y'all took the time to try and offer advise. I had no idea one could shrink the pouch but that is encouraging. That probably is my best bet. I have always been a grazer so eating big meals isn't the problem and I drink the required water. I also drink two protein shakes a day which together have 50 gr. of protein plus I eat other protein in my food so I think that should be enough. I have lost about 65 lbs so far so that isn't too bad but I need to loose about 65 moore. I am just going to have to try harder and hope that the problem will pass..hopefully very soon. I drink 2 cups of green tea a day and I wonder if that is increasing my appitite. I will stop drinking it and see if that helps, too. Thanks so much for all the words of wisdom.
