Hi! This is my first time posting. I am just wondering if anyone is dealing w/ the same insurance as I am. I will be finished w/ all the specialists appts, pysc eval, blood tests, and 6months of documented ov w/my family practice doctor Nov 6th. My concern is that if I am not done w/ all these things until November and BCBS doesn't get info until late november and they stall until December it will be to late for me since my insurance company is supposed to stop covering the first of the year. Any suggestions? Any help would be great! Thanks to all! By the way my name is Kim.

Thanks Alexa for your help. I guess first thing Monday I will give them call and ask about the scheduling. The problem w/ getting info in before November 6th is that will be my last appt for my 6months of documented doctor supervised weight program. Thanks again. Kim

Kim, I also have BCBS of Florida. I had no problem with them approving my surgery. I was approved on the first request and got an approval in a week. Hopefully, you will also experience the same thing. Try moving some of you appointments up and just make sure you have all of the information and paperwork complete before submitting your request. D

I know that the surgeon's offices are well aware of the BCBS changes coming, so I'm sure if you express your concern to your surgeon's office, they will do all they can to work with you. I wish you good luck and welcome to the board!! Jan

Hey Kim...It took me just a little over 2 weeks to get approved. When I started my calling...I made sure that I spoke to the same person each time. My contact was Sara and I tried to speak with her each time. Even when I didn't get her...I would mention I had been dealing with Sara and they always referred me to her or got a message to her. They had me a surgery date even before I was approved. Good Luck Betty
