Hello all, I visited my surgeon for the first time yesterday and all went wonderful...They seem to think that I will easily get approved due to all I did to make sure I had all of my packet complete for the insurance company...Thanks to everyone here and the great help. Anyway I was shocked to find out that my insurance which is Tricare Prime will only allow for an open proceedure as opposed to the Laparoscopic which sounds much better to me...Bummer.. .Is there anyone here that has gotten a Laparoscopic RNY approved through tricare and only tricare? thank you for the help or insight. Kristen, I have Tricare Prime as well....am in the last steps of preparations and found out several months ago Tricare Prime will only cover open. Wouldn't give me a reason and spoke to the Dr. office regarding it as well. She informed me they will only pay for open but the dr will do as he feels is best for me....so I am still unable to answer as to exactly what will happen. Lap would certainly be better for me mentally and physically and less invasive.
