Saint Lucie County? Pleaseeeeeeee
Hi, I need a buddy. I am so lonely in the Weight Loss Journey. I mean my family is behind me. But I would love someone in physical form to do some activities with. I know it sounds funny, but I've been here for 15 months and dayum Florida is a lonely state. Would love to make some new friends. Hope to hear from new neighbors real soon!
Oh and I'm still on that plateu from hell. Since I'm not losing, I decided to die my hair. Picture at the bottom of my profile. Tell me what you all think. Man I sure hope I don't whine up with stoma problems. Seem like I eat way more than the folks in the "what did you eat today section" I am a little more than 4 months out. Today I had a cup of lite yogurt for breakfast. 2 wedge french fries and 2 mcnuggets for lunch 2 vegetable spring rolls (carrots, cellery, avacado lettuce, wrapped in rice paper) for dinner and a protein shake for snack. Is this too much? Oh and about a gallon of water. I am going to start to make sure I get in 3 protein shakes a day. Maybe thats my problem. Less bulk food. I don't know. I have been reading the horror stories, about stretched stomas, and it's scaring me. This surgery has got to be a success for me. I started at 257, now at 202. My personal goal is 180, but I would love to be 140 pounds. Is there anyone in South East Florida that would like to be buddies? Particularly Saint Lucie County.
Thanks for letting me vent tonight. I really appreciate this site, and you guys.
Rhonda,
Love the lighter hair! You're looking good.
I know what you mean about this being a lonely journey at times. This is a great place to try to connect with some others who can relate to our situation. I wish you were closer to Orlando because there are quite a few around here who have had surgery and would meet up with you. Keep trying to find a support group near you, that would help a lot and maybe join the YMCA or Curves to see if you can meet some new friends.
You are doing such a great job, plateau or not and are so close to meeting goal, you'll do it!
Your eating doesn't sound like too much food to me, just make sure it's protein first, then veggies, then fruit and carbs. Great job with the water
I'm no expert and I have good days and bad days in regards to getting all my protein and water in, but for the most part I think I am a pretty good post-op but it is a challenge some days. I know some on the mainboard have said when they have a long plateau, they focus on eating even more protein and virtually no carbs to jumpstart their body again and that seems to work. Then others post that there really isnt anything you can do but ride it out. It's always one thing or another
.
Good luck and I hope you can make some new friends locally soon.
Take care,
Amy

Hi Rhonda, I live in Boca Raton. Maybe we can meet in the middle in Palm Beach Gardens Mall. E-mail me if you want to meet up. Our surgery dates are about a month apart so we can support eachother. I started out at 307 and now I am 242. My goal weight is also 140 but anything under 200 would be fine with me. Hope to talk to you soon!!!!!!!
Christine
