Good morning!
Hi. Well, I just thought I would see if anyone still has power. Here in the panhandle we are getting some wind and it looks like it is headed my way. I live in Gulf county and they just said we are not "under mandatory evacuation". WHAT DOES THAT MEAN?
Anyway, looks like we might be in for some of it.
Hope all are okay. Give us a count if you are still out there. How did you do? Any damage. Prayers go out to all.
Carol

Hey Carol!
I've still got power and yes, looks like it is heading your way now-looks very weak though now so your biggest worry might be the tornados that spawn off this thing. If you're not under mandatory evac. that means that the threat of the storm isn't bad enough to warrant forcing folks to leave. As I said, I have power but I understand we're a few of the lucky ones. Those outer bands threw some nasty weather our way last night and my backyard is now under water (and I don't live near any water ways). I did venture out yesterday evening and found limbs down and one tree into someone's house...and we're over here on the WEST coast. So I'd say we faired well compared to some of our other friends in FL. I'll check back throughout the day to see who all posts and to check on everyone. You take care and be safe!

Hi Carol,
I live in Gainesville, north central Florida, and it has been raining CONSTANTLY since Saturday night. This is day 2 without power - and I weather the majority of the storm alone! Luckily I have a laptop with a bit of bettery yet to check the weather situation. I also have an emergency weather radio. I thought my regular radio was also battery operated - BUT NO SUCH LUCK! So the only sound I get to hear is the wind and the rain. Sometimes it has been deafining (if thats a word & spelled right...) I have to have a few windows open because the house was getting very stuffy and warm. Especially with the candles that I had lit. I've not really ventured out - although I've seen a few trees down and we've had a couple of tornadoes in the area - but luckily not in my path! I also see that Ivan is right behind it and headed this way! FL has been very fortunate the last few year - not so much anymore!
Take care all!

I live in Port Richey, and have no damage, no flooding, and never lost power. Other than some pretty heavy winds earlier this morning, and a little yesterday, and lots of rain, of course, we escaped most of it. I did hear that some areas of the county had some downed trees and damaged roofs, etc., but I haven't been out and about. My neighborhood looks fine, though.
Hoping that everyone else fared well,
Janice
Carol,
I'm north of downtown Orlando and the rain has finally moved on. Today was full of tornado warnings and the final rainbands from Frances. I went into work for 6 hours and then came home to nap. I havent gotten a good night's sleep since this all started, tonight should be a good night for me to catch up. I never lost power which is amazing since so many others around here did. Good luck weathering the last of Frances.
Take care,
Amy

Mandatory evacuation means that "we're telling you to leave and if you don't here's a toe tag". I'm not kidding. They do that in the Keys all the time when there is a hurricane.
I have a brother in Panama City. I pray all of you stay dry. South of West Palm Beach faired well with Frances.
Take Care. LuvitsunnyV
