Hi Debbie,
Unless it strengthens again significantly, they shouldn't have a problem unless they live in a flood zone or a mobile home. The biggest worry would be a tornado. They'll probably be fine staying where they are, because they are so far inland and the hurricane has weakened.
God Bless,
Erika L

They keep changing their minds about how much wind Ocala will get, but Lake City is so much further north that it will be a tropical storm at worst or a Low Pressure Area at best by the time it gets up there. Your family should be ok. It the folks in the southeast part of the state that I'm really praying for!

I am right in the path.. It has died down some in strength. We were supposed to get 120 mile an hour winds and now they are saying 75-80. So that is a good sign. They have also changed the time line. It was supposed to hit us at 9am-ish Saturday but now they are saying noon Sunday. So who knows that its going to do. I think that what is going to be the major deal is the flooding. 20 in of rain exspected. So we will see. If you dont see us posting come Sunday.. then we have no power. Keep your fingers crossed and the prayers going up up up!!

Frances has just past Miami/Dade County's latitude. We are experiencing feeder bands with wind gusts to about 50 mi./hr and sustained winds of 30mi./hr. Light rain. Fortunately, we are on the clean side of this storm.
We were without electricity for about 24 hrs but managed. Praying for all
those West Palm Beach and north. Probably Lake City area will get a lot of rain. LuvitsunnyV
