From Port Charlotte
Hello Friends, I finally have electricy and the internet back after 3 weeks.
My thoughts are with all of you throughout the state. My home was severely damaged but now livable. My office was completely destroyed by Charley. Make sure you have your battery operated radio...I didn't have one and was very displaced the first few days after the storm. If you can find a battery operated fan buy it...Florida is no place to be in August without airconditioning! The Red Cross, The National Guard, Baptist Disaster Team were all sooooo helpful to all of us. you can count on them to be there if you are effected. Should you loose all or part of your roof contact the Army Corp of Engineers "Operation Blu-Roof" They will come out and tarp your roof for no charge and do a very good job.
God's Blessings to all of you and Thank you so much for the many kind emails I received after Charley blew threw. I was finally able to retrive them today!

Laurie, glad you are getting things back together. We are finishing our preparations for Frances. I live East of US 1 so we would be in the second round of madatory evacuations if it gets that bad. However, the shelters are full with the first round of evacuees. Good to know about "Operation BLue Roof".
