OK, it's time for us all to stand facing towards Frances and on the count of three, blow as hard as we can to push her back away from our beautiful state. Oh, how I wi**** was that easy I was wondering how some of you felt about starting a communication chain so that we can touch base with each other after this weekend's events and whoever (Jan, should that be whomever? ) might still have access to their computer could post the status on here. After the last time, we lost touch with so many of our friends from here for several days and I know that created a lot of worry for many of us. We would need a few folks to step up and act as a point of contact. I would be more than happy to offer my home and cell numbers thru email to any of you if you would like me to act as a point of contact. Feel free to email me your info and I'll do the same. Just a thought... Amy

Hi Amy, I agree with you, blow real hard. BTW, how much damage did Orlando receive with Charlie? I had heard they were not putting out the info. Did not want to scare away visitors. I know you were without power and phone. Stay safe, Marla

Marla, The damage here was tremendous, mostly from the large trees and power poles falling over, landing on whatever got in their way. There are so many older neighborhoods in the Central FL area that had numerous large trees that just couldnt handle the winds. Several folks I work with had major roof damage, cars smashed and one lost her house completely. I dont know anyone who did not lose power at least for a day. Most of us were without power for more than 3 days. I dont believe the theory that officials didnt tell us early enough, I think most folks were complacent because we live inland. Then the storm changed directions about 10 hrs before it hit Orlando and lots of folks were just not prepared. It's a different story this time. Already gas, ice and water shortages exist so if it doe**** us hard again, it will a difficult few days afterwards. I am all set with gas, water, ice and food. I am just worried about my roof and the wind or projectiles breaking the windows here. I have LOTS of windows and three sets of sliding glass doors to tape up. Crossing my fingers and toes here for myself and all my friends on here Amy

Amy, you stay safe. I knew there had to be major damage in your area. I lived there many years ago and still visit many or the small towns. I like to shop for "junk". I use it to make garden art. Not been doing much this last year for one reason or another. Back to the storm, remember to get into an interspace if winds get strong. Thanks for the info. Marla

I'll probably be working at the nursing home, and I'll be taking my cats with me but I sent my cell info to Amy in case anyone wants it. Jan
