Hurricain Headed for me
I live on the Treasure Coast and on the web site www.flhurricain.com they are reporting landfall between Stuart and Ft Pierce with Vero Bch possibly included. We recently moved out of a large STURDY home into a mobile home awaiting my husbands retirement next year. We will be moving to Leesburg when he retires I AM FROZEN WITH FEAR! I can't seem to decide what to pack. where do I start. Half of our home is is a lg. storage unit and I will probably never see the family treasures that are packed away once that roof gets peeled away. I keep telling myself that "things" aren't important but the years of memories can't be replaced.
Please pray for those of us who are on the Atlantic side of the state right in the heart of harms way.
I am 2 weeks post op and surgery didn't rob me of my peace the way Frances is!
Blessings
Deanna

I am praying for everyone. be safe and take care. angie
Dear Deanna,
I live on the West Coast of Florida, and went through the fear when Charley was scheduled to hit our home a few weeks ago. We packed up and went inland. I remember saying a little prayer as we pulled out of the drive way asking God to please let our home be here when we returned. We took all the possessions that were irriplaceable with us. Be sure to take your insurance papers!
Lucky for us and by the grace of God the storm came in about 100 miles south of our area.
Prayers go out to you and your family, maybe Frances will take a detour and spare your home.
Good Luck,
Jeanette D.

Tell me about it!! I'm in Ocala and work for a nursing home. We had (notice past tense) a sister facility in ***** Gorda that was demolished and now here we are again!! My surgery is supposed to be next Wednesday, and I have no idea if I'll have a home, or if I'll have the surgery due to power failure.
I'm still praying hard for a north turn and a miracle for Florida!!! By the way, the website is www.flhurricane.com

I live in Fellsmere, a little northwest of Vero Beach. We closed my work today at 2pm. I've been to Walmart on Monday and Tuesday and they are out of just about everything you would need. Trying to get ready, but the more you do...the more you have to do!! We will work all day tomorrow getting ready and hope for the best. I would hate to lose my house, especially with me in it...but I have been wanting to do some remodeling!! Isn't that sick!! Just as long as we make it thru and don't get hurt...we will get thru this.
Good luck to everyone else and be safe!!
Betty
I think we will all feel Frances. We have shuttered about 3/4 of the house and will finish tomorrow. I'm particularly concerned because we live less than a mile from the Bay waters. This will be our first major hurricane since moving to Miami 7 1/2 years ago.
All of my children, grandchildren and their pets are arriving here in Miami by Saturday. Youngest daughter is in Lakeland at college and they advised all students in state to go home. The oldest daugher and her husband and 3 mos old live in Port St. Lucie, Martin County. He is a fireman and will be on duty so she and the baby are coming here. My son, his wife and their little boy are shuttering thier house in West Palm Beach and will be arriving Friday evening. I'm glad they told me intime to double stock this AM. We need to pray for us ALL!
At this point I am worried for the whole state, not just the East coast. Dr. Steve Lyons from the weather channel hit the nail on the head "There is no meteorologist ANYWHERE that should be pinpointing a strike point yet.". It doesn't matter where it goes, Frances is HUGE and everyone will feel the impact....bearing in mind that some areas are already vulnerable (i.e. folks with 1/2 their roof already gone). Here in Lee Co., regardless of the tireless efforts, debris from Charley is not totally cleaned up yet-therefore we now have even more "flying projectiles". At this point, I am praying for EVERYONE and with all of you here on our FL board the best.
Take Care & Be Safe
God Bless,
Danielle
