Today's Meet and Greet

I had a lot of fun at today's meeting. I can't wait to be amongst the losers and share my story someday.

I don't know if I can. I'm kind of broke at the moment, and I would feel weird in a sense showing up and wanting to order something yummy.

Hi Heather, This is Dawn Barrera. My husband Omar and I are hosting the get together at Chili's tomorrow. I just wanted to let you know that if you want to join us, please feel free to do just that. I TOTALLY understand the "short on cash thing". Omar and I are on a fixed income right now and we had already decided not to order a regular meal tomorrow. We may get an appitizer and share. (and you are welcome to share too.LOL) We just enjoy meeting new people and swaping the trials and tribulations of this WLS journey. If you decide not to come, that's ok. Well, I'll try my hardest! Maybe I can get a chance to squeeze a word in with you two. I was pretty shy and had my ups and downs on talking. Just felt a little off when trying to say something heh. But maybe tomorrow I'll be more talkative! I'm so glad I met everyone though this has just been, wow. You guys don't know how good I feel. I'll see you all tomorrow probably.

Girl, I understand about the shy thing. I was telling some of the people down our end of the table today that going out into a mall on a Saturday no less, was a big thing for me. I'm not comfortable in situations like that and even though Omar and I host monthly get togethers, it always puts me in panic mode to know that I have to "host" and make sure everyone else is involved in the discussions. But, I made a decidion last year that I was going to get out of my comfort zone and begin to go out and meet new people and spend time in places I normally wouldn't.
