Is it BCBS of Florida? I live in Jacksonville but I have BCBS of Alabama. I am waiting for approval right now.

Hi, I attemped lap band approval over a year ago. BC/BS of FL denied. They even came to my doctor's office for a visit checking out the procedure. Still no luck. They felt it was expermental(sp). I knew I could only have 3 chances, so I chose another doctor and went with lap rny. I have also heard one does not loose as much weight with lap-band. Marla

I have BC/BS PPO (FL) State Employees and I was told BC/BS of FL period, not matter what division does not cover lap band due to it's easy reversibility and b/c it's so new. Hope this helps...but don't give up either way, keep pushing if that's what you want. Good luck to you! Danielle
