3 WEEK ANNIVERSARY SUCCESS
Hello everyone! I just had to toot my own horn and let everyone know that today is my 3 week anniversary of non-smoking! I quit 3 weeks ago cold-turkey. It has been the hardest 3 weeks of my life and everyday is as hard as the first!
I obviously needed to quit #1-because it's not healthy and #2 I had to quit before surgery. I still have cravings like every 3 seconds. That is because I smoked a pack a day for like 7 years. ANyway- 21 days down, a lifetime to go!!
I Hope everyone has a great day!
Kim

Good job Kim and more power to ya!
I am supposed to quit one month before sugery too but I don't think I'll be able to do it. I'm the weirdo obese woman that smokes {not eats} when I get upset, nervous, stressed, etc. So I don't know...I was also told that as long as they put the cusions on your legs at the hospital and you get up and get walking...keeping that circulation going you're fine. My grandmother still smokes, and has for AGES...even before surgeries and she's fine. So, I don't know, sounds like a catch 22 thing to me. I see the medical logic in it but at the same time.......

Kim,
I smoked about a pack a day for WAY over 7 years, and now that I've quit, it's the best thing ever! I can't even stand the smell of smoke and I can breathe SO much better. It was getting pretty bad to cough up my lungs every morning!!! I don't miss THAT at all!! Once you get over this hump, you'll be fine! Hang in there and do this for yourself!

Congrats!! I went cold turkey back in 2001, after smoking 2 packs a day for 17 years. It was hard for a couple months, but remember it is all in your head, you don't need that cig!! Now I think smoking is sooo nasty. When I first quit, I could smell people smoking in cars in front of us. My dad also quit almost 2 years ago...cold turkey after 50+ years. You can do it!!!
