Is there anyone here with a lapband?

Hi everyone, I am new to this board. I am just beginning my journey through wls. I want am looking to get the lapband. Is there anyone on this board that has gone through the surgery? Can you share that experince with me? I am not afraid, I just like to be informed of what I might experince. I am considering Dr. Lee Grossbard in Zephyrhills. He has had the lapband himself. I just need a circle of friends who understand, what it like to be overweight and have tried everything to lose only for the weight to return and exceeds your previous weight. I am having this surgery to increase longevity of life.

Hi! Welcome ! Everyone on here are wonderful. Have you tried checking out the Lap Band Boards? This site has boards on everything you can think of. Go to the top and click on communties. Then page down you'll see it and hundreds more. Good Luck. We are having a Meet and Greet at Altamonte Springs Mall next Saturday the 28th. Come and Meet some great people. There are Pre-ops, Post-ops and Lap Bands, Open etc. Anyone everyone that wants to come can. gail

I had RNY but I totally understand about a circle of friends that understand. I went to 2 informal group meetings before my surgery and I finally found people who understood how I felt and what I have been though all my life. Like Gail said there is a meet and greet at the Altamonte Mall week from Saturday. I am planning on attending, I now love meeting new people! Tracey
