Well, I am one week post op. Been home 3 days now and feeling a little better each day. It was a very interesting experience in the hospital. I had a huge picture window view of teh storms rolling in for Charley. They evacuated the bottom few floors of Tampa General and cleared out anyone who was even remotely close to being discharged. I think there was only 3-4 patients left on my floor that night. I wasn't worried though. I knew I was in good hands. My incision is just over 12 inches long. I had the dystal bypass, plus a hernia repair and alot of scar tissue removed. Pain level is not bad, just can't find comfortable sleeping situation. Trying to be faithful with fluids, but ya know, it is reaklky hard to force yourself to do all these fluids when you just don't feel like it. I do find, if I fall asleep for a few hours, I wake up really needing them though. All in all, I feel myself getting more and more back to normal each day and I thnak my wonderful angel, Kim. She has been a true blessing! Thanks also to everyone who has sent prayers and thoughts! I do appreciate you! Kathy

Kathy, so glad you are home and oing well. Do drink, so very important. I had a really bad day from not drinking enough. Jose told me to get lots of gatorade in as well as juice and water. I know it is difficult. Good luck to you. Marla

Kathy, So glad you are home and doing well. Sounds like an interesting, memorable hospital experience with the hurricane looming in the Gulf. Amazing how quickly things change with those darn weather beasts. Keep up the great work and let us know how things are going. Good luck
