Hi Everyone, Well I find myself looking for more help. The surgeon that I was hoping to get my Duodenal Switch with says that I would not be a good cadidate for it because of prior hernia surgery. I really want this type of surgery,so if anyone knows of a good DS surgeon in S FL please let me know. Thanks for reading my post, Dennis

Hi Dennis, I had lap rny with Dr. English in Fort Lauderdale. Their group of surgeons specialize in Barriatric surgery and they are the best in the area. I don't know if they do DS but here is the office #954-739-5531. Say to them that I, Christine Courtney, reccomended you. If they don't do it, maybe they can reccomend another surgeon. I too had alot of scar tissue because of 2 c-sections and my gall bladder removed and these surgeons did a wonderful job. Hope this helps, Christine

Hi Dennis. I live in Palm beach county also and had my surgery done at JFK hospital in Lantana(really Atlantis) I had LAP, My surgeon was Jesus Jimenez. His office is at 1640 congress Ave. He does a tremendous amount of surgery at JFK. I did not need one pain Pill after surgery. I know I may have just been lucky but he is a really nice person and I cant recommend him enough. I dont know anything about the surgery that you are looking for but he is worth meeting. from the time I met him, I had surgery 30 days later. Good luck lizz

Dennis, I had my surgery in Fort Lauderdale -- US Bariatric. My surgery was lap RNY and I'm not sure they do the DS. I just know they are really good. LuvitsunnyV

I don't know where you are in relation to Jupiter, Florida...but I had my surgery (1 year ago today,,,in fact) by Dr. Jefferson Vaughan. Dennis, A gal I met at the Tallahassee WLS Support Group had a BPD with DS but she went to somewhere in Virginia near Washington, DC for hers. She had nothing but praise for her doc (Dr. Elariny, I think). She does her follow-ups with her PCP and by phone with her surgeon.
