New to the board...
Thanks! I doubt I'll have any problem getting there. Just which side of the mall should I come in from? I usually enter through Penny's.
Hmm...Dr. Murr(sp) is highly recommended from the people my dad works with. Two of which have had the surgery all ready. The one lady at the V.A. Hospital has lost 200 pounds or something like that he said. So it sounds like he is a good guy. Well night all.

Heather, welcome to the Florida boards. Unless you are planning on self paying, you may want to get your insurance handled quickly, there is a good chance they'll consider this a pre-existing condition, you could have to wait a year before they'll even consider covering it. Good luck, keep us informed on how you are doing along the way.
Hi Heather!
I am over in St Pete
You will learn more on this board than any other I promise. No question is silly or unimportant, from hygiene to sex to furniture!
Are you on social security or will you be a self pay? I have Humana and they have been just the best.
And I always mention this because I was looking at other people's weights real hard when I first came in here... I started out at 536 pounds and had no problem whatsoever with surgery. Please do not feel you are different or too large. We all understand.
I want to get back on those rides too! I miss hooting and screaming on Back to the Future! And when I step on the Jaws ride i dont want to think the boat will capsize.
Welcome!
~Tina~

Hi Heather,
Welcome to the board! Sorry my post is a little late but with everything going on with the hurricane and the power being out, I haven't had much time to get online.
My husband Omar and I live in Orlando close to Universal. Omar had LAP-RNY on 4/7/03 and has so far lost 300 pounds. He started at 525 and now is 225. He also had thigh reduction in June of this year and they removed 30 pounds of skin.
We host a monthly get together of WLS people. Our group is called WLS Central Florida. We welcome pre or post op, lap or banded, and we don't care who your surgeon is.
Our next get together is Sunday afternoon, August 29th. A location and time hasn't been decided yet but I will let you know soon. This is a different meeting than the one at Altamonte Mall on Saturday, August 28th.
if you need to talk or have any questions feel free to email. You will get lots of good support and advice from everyone here.
Sincerely,
Dawn
