Hello Everyone! How many of you were a Boy Scout, Girl Scout, Brownie. Indian Guide, etc? I was a Brownie then a Girl Scout for one year. I hated the Girl Scouts, but my Mom wanted me to do it for at least one year. I was too much a tomboy that year and would have rather been playing than doing crafts. I think my favorite part of the meetings was snack time LOL.

I was a BlueBird for 2 Years and then a Camp Fire Girl For 4 years. I went to camp and all. I had every badge you could get. From tieing knots to baking a cake, rowing a boat or buliding your own kite. Must be why I am so crafty now. gail

Long time scout here, I started in cub scouts as soon as I was old enough to, I went from cubscouts to boyscouts, after i turned 18 I became an adult volunteer. All in all I put about 22 years in scouting, before I finally got out.

Well, I wasn't any of those. I was just so busy playing and such that I never joined any of those groups. When I was in junior high, we lived on a farm and I joined 4-H for a couple years. Took photography and sewing. Good question, Amy. Gives us an insight into others again. Thanks for doing the questions daily. Lots of fun. Carol

I did Cub Scouts (all the way up to Webelos) and Indian Guides. I enjoyed both. But as I get older with two boys of my own, my most foundest memories are of the father-son times I spent in Indian Guides.

I was never in the scouts either, I was busy with riding my schwinn 5 speed with a banana seat. But from 5th grade until 11th grade, I was in band. It was not a nerd thing either, marching band and camp was hot hard work. Especially for a kid of size. The travel and music and friends were all a huge impact on my life. Tina

Hi Amy, I look forward to your questions every day. I look at the boards when I am eating lunch at my desk. It helps me to eat slowly because I type in between bites....lol. I guess you are helping me be successful in my program.....thanks. I was a brownie and then a girl scout for one year like you also. I got into playing sports for school and did not have time for girl scouts. I have not thought of those memories in a long time. Thanks again, Christine

I'll bet there isn't one person on this board that ever heard of the organization I belonged to as a kid. Anyone ever heard of Calvinettes? We wore navy blue skirts, white blouses and had a white neckerchief. It was a church group and was fun.

I went to church programs that were very similar: Sunbeams and Girl Guards. We had meetings every week -- doing real neat stuff and a 1 wk camp every summer. My last event was as an instructor and we had an national week long camp out at Mt. Rushmore. I think there was about 800 girls and leaders. It was great!
