I have heard about hair falling out after the WLS. Is this basically a given? Does it happen to most everyone? When does it usually start and how long before it stops? Thanx!! Kallen

Kallen, Yes it happens to almost everyone. I have never heard of anyone going bald because of it. It usually starts about month 4 post-op, and lasts 3 or 4 months. There are people that say eating more protein, or taking biotin help, it can't hurts, but hasn't been proven to be totally effective. Once again, you lose some hair, but nobody I know of has gone bald. Good luck.

My hair started coming out at 4 mos. It only lasted for about 6 weeks. Because I had a lot of hair to begin with I was the only one who could really tell. It's coming back in now.
