Well I'm one step closer now. I had my final appointment yesterday and did all the pre-admit stuff. For anyone who hasn't been there yet this is what my Doc does....
The group of us, about 8 patients and our chosen support people, were at Dr. Jawad's from 9:00 'til 1:00. We were counseled by the PT, the dietician, the nurse (on the care and use of the G-tube) and the Dr. (on the procedure and the risks). Then we individually met with Dr. Jawad. I was given prescriptions for pain and nausea. The worst part was that they took my picture, I would rather have a shot. Then it was off to ORMC where we got blood drawn, urine sample, EKG and chest x-ray. They put an ID bracelet on that has to stay on 'til surgery, or else you have to re-do all the tests. They gave us a tiny bar of Dail soap to shower with on the morning of the surgery. Was finally done about 3:30. It was a very long day but very informative.
And this has been a very long post but I hope some of you have found it informative.
Oh yeah, only 5 more days!!!!! I can't wait!!!
