Help again!

Hi Everyone, I am starting to get discouraged. I have not been able to locate a PCP in my area that is Obesity Sensetive. I have to find a Dr. that has the large equipment because I am hoping to have DS surgery in GA and the Dr. needs to know my weight gefore I can even go for my consult. I don't know what to do. I have called different Drs. and have not found one that can meet my needs. If anyone has any ideas I would appreciate hearing from you. Thanks for reading my post, Dennis

Dennis, You've peaked my curiosity...why are you going to Ga to have surgery???

Hi Amy, After researching the various types of surgery,I decided that the Duodenal Switch is the right choice for me. I could have the surgery in Ft.Lauderdale,Orlando,or Ocala,but I feel the best surgeon for this procedure is Dr. Dennis Smith in GA. Thanks for asking, Dennis

Dennis, I don't know what to tell you about finding a PCP, but lots of people have surgery down in the Miami-Ft. Lauderdale area, so there must be SOME PCPs who are pro-WLS out there. Maybe if you called another bariatric clinic, they could give you some names to check out? Good luck!! Jan

Dr. Haicken in Largo does DS and he is very very good. He has a good rep and he was my surgeon. Check into him before going to Ga. As far as your weight. Go to a hosp that does the surgery. They can weigh ya.

Hi Sherri, Thanks for the suggestion! There is a hosp close to me that does wls. The Dr. I'm going to in GA is considered the best in the South at this procedure. He has performed alot of DS's with a 0% mortality rate. I'm hoping he maintains that record with me :~) Thanks for the reply, Dennis
