She is one of the first people who got me thinking about WLS a couple of years ago. But I saw her on a video a few weeks ago and it looked as if she has gained alot of the weight back. Did she mention if she had? It kind of scared me when I saw her because at the time I was only about 2 weeks post op. I really am not normally a fearful person but that is one fear I do have.... that I will gain the weight back sometime in the future. Hopefully there will be many, many more years to my life and the thought of keeping it off *forever* saps my confidence if I think about it too much. I would really love to hear from people who have kept if off for five or more years.
Kallen
I heard on the main board that she had an interview where she said she constantly battles 10 lbs. When I saw her on one of the morning shows with the other two girls from Wilson Philips, she was wearing a shirt that was a little too tight and accentuated some rolls on her back. Between that shirt and standing next to China Philips, she looked like she had gained some weight, not a huge amount but enough to warrant a double take on my part. But I think ANYone would look big next to that Philips girl. When I have seen interviews with Carnie alone, she looked just fine. Just my two cents...
Hi Kallen,
I had open RNY in Dec 1999. Have lost a total of 188. In all this time I have gained back only 22 lbs. I know alot of people may say OH MY GOD GAINED 22 pounds, but I look at it like this, thats a heck of alot better then being 374 pounds again!! My weight is very stable and I battle about 10-15 pounds constantly.
Good Luck! Donna
I am looking forward to seeing her in person at the Rewarding Change convention this October.

I am very excited to hear about how she deals with a small amount of weigh gain and being in the spotlight
