Incision talk
Hello Family,
I hope everyone is doing well!
I am doing great, and could not have asked God for more blessings.
I did wake up Saturday morning with pain around the g-tube site and my skin in that area feels very sore and tender. I don't feel the pain if I am sitting still, but once I get up to move or something it really hurts.
On another thread someone was speaking of the incision opening after the stapals were taken out. I was wondering how many people out there don't or have not had staples at all?
I don't have any staples!
I know that sounds weird, but Dr Cox does not put any staples in the incision. He does something on the inside and on the outside he applied Dermabond. My incision is beautiful.
I know your probably wondering how the hell that can be.
I mean it is so thin and healing just beautifully. When my sister has gastric bypass surgery many years back, the poor thing had so many complications. Her incision had a very wide opening at the top and I rememeber she had a home nurse and my mother used to literally pack the incision inside. It was awful! Luckily, she healed up and is not doing wonderfully!
Anyhow, I know I am rambling. I am kinda bored. Milton took the kids swimming, and its rare that I am home alone.
Love you all,
MICHELLE

hi Michelle...how are you doing? Well, I haven't had my surgery yet, (i will on Aug. 25, God willing), but i just wanted to say hi and that i'm glad you're doing so good..you and many others are going to be my inspiration when i'm in the hospital...take care and i hope all keeps going well...
lots of hugs,
Mady
Michelle, I'm glad you are doing so well, congratulations. Dermabond is basically surgical superglue. I had staples, but I hear more and more doctors are going with Dermabond. It will basically break apart and dissapear after a while. Years ago, I had eye problems, and they used it to glue my eylids closed, it lasted for about two weeks, and then dissolved. Good luck.
Hey Michelle,
Dermabond seems to be the in-thing nowdays. Incisions breaking open scares me to death, only 'cus I've been there! After I had my son, my c-section incision broke open and had to be packed for 6 stinkin' weeks. I found out later that c-section incisions break easily on obese people (I'm guess from the extra weight of our "apron"). I already have scars on my tummy from having my gall bladder removed when I was 14, so I don't think a few more will bother me.
Best Wishes!
Danielle
