WAAAAAAA! I have hives :(

Today while at work, I thought I was having another dumping episode today after lunch. I ate a small cheeseburger, no bun with a little BBQ sauce. I got SO sick and could not leave the restroom for over 20 min (sorry TMI). I was so weak and just miserable, couldnt stop sweating and breathing hard. I finally made it back to my desk where one of my peers calmed me down and then she walked me to my car. I just needed to get home to lay down . After I was driving for a few minutes, I realized my arms were really itchy, I looked down and had hives all over my arms, now they have spread everywhere. So after a call to the doctor and a trip to Walgreen's, I am loaded up with Benadryl and completely swimming in hydrocortisone cream. I am one big itchy girl right now and have no one to whine to, so you all get to hear my misery ! Send me some positive, itch-relieving vibes, please!

hey sweetie pie...sorry about the dumping and the hives. Even though I'm pre-op, this week I went to publix and started looking thru several bottles of condiments and other foods I never thought would be sweeten, and I noticed that most of them have sugar. Why don't you trying buying some sauce, that is sugar-free and taking it to work with you so you can have a little with your meals, and avoid the unknown with horrible consequences...Just a thought...I had hives once, all over my body..it was horrible..the itching is incredible..so I feel for you...if it doesn't go away though...contact your dr again..you might need a shot...I received 2 before my hives went away... Other than that...how are you feeling??? i'm still nervous about my upcoming surgery... look at my profile..I got a pic of my puppy on there...tell me what you think...take care and I do hope you feel better..bye sweetie... lots of hugs, Mady

Thanks so much for your concern. I took a Benadryl nap and feel so much better now. Most of the hives are gone now and I have just a few itchy spots. I shouldnt have tried the burger or the BBQ sauce at all, but I was feeling so good and thought "what the heck". Bad choice on my part. Normally, I am not a BBQ sauce person at all, but I thought I would dip the peices of burger in it for some extra flavor. I might have had a 1/4 tsp, but I got a lot more than flavor LOL Now I just have to get some energy so I can go back to work for a few hours tonight and again in the morning. It's the end of the month and I have things to wrap up before tomorrow night, leaving work today sick didnt help meeting my deadlines. Talk to you soon, Amy

Hi Amy, you poor thing. I feel so bad for you. I wish I could make it go away. You must of been allergic to something you ate. You are such a sweet girl. Hope you feel better real soon, Christine

OMG, Amy I feel so sorry for you. I've been there a couple of times. Like Mady said if not better by tomorrow call your Dr. again. The problem is not what you see, but what the hives are doing inside. Take care, HUGS to you.

Miss Gail, Thanks so much for your concern. I am feeling better and think they will be completely gone within another couple hours. Any more news on your job situation? I have been keeping you in my thoughts and hoping for the best for you. Amy

Gosh I am so sorry to hear about that. I can totally understand about the hive thing. I started getting them about 3 years ago, for no reason at all. Well I am sure there is a reason, but I am just tooo dumb to figure it out. I am a pretty strong person when it comes to pain but when my hives come out...i freak out and cry for my Zyrtec. Which puts me in a happy place Right now I am sending out anti-itch vibes! Tracey

Sorry to hear about your day's obstacles. Glad to hear things are better. Claritin also makes a pill for hives if you don't clear up completely. They really help with itching and the rash. Have a great evening and I am sending lots of anti-itch vibes your way. Carol
