ok, this may be a stupid question, but i am known for them. does lack of protein slow down your weightloss? the first two weeks, i was doing well with it and lost 33.5 lbs....but now i have only lost 15 lbs the last two weeks and the only thing that changed in my diet was that i have not really been doing any protien...it gives me headaches and makes me really sleepy....so what should i do?

1) be thrilled about how much weight you've lost -- it's like 10x more than most people lose in that time frame 2) start eating protein? *grin* Protein helps you feel full, and is the only stuff your body can't make on its own. If your body isn't getting enough from your diet, it starts substituting on the only other protein sources around, which tend to be stuff like muscle and your internal organs.

Chazlin, no protein means no weight loss. If you are not eating, then your body is going into starvation mode, and no weight loss. If you are eating and not eating protein, then you are eating carbs, and no weight loss. You need the protein to lose the weight.

I agree with the others.....Protein first....always think protein first. At 3 months you will be going bald because you have not takin the protein requirements seriously. Shelly

Increase protein, increase water, increase activity and remember, at some point the weight loss has to slow a little. 15 pounds in two weeks is a pound a day! Good luck. luvitsunnyv

Chazlin, Keep in mind, the first couple weeks you are losing a lot of water weight. Plus, we didnt eat for the 2-3 days we were in the hospital so it is normal to lose a lot more during that time frame. Now during the honeymoon period, we need to do all we can to get our protein in, take our supplements and exercise. If we dont do it now, it will just be harder down the road to get started and try to change bad habits. Trust me I struggle with getting my protein in too. Hang in there Amy
