Thanks it all sounds like good advice. Steve, yours sounded so good, it showed up twice . Seriously, I love using this board and I want to thank you all for your info. Sometimes I am wondering about something and before I can ask, someone else ask so I just listen. Makes me know I am not alone in this journey. Carol

Good luck with your up coming wonderful life change. For the ride home have who ever is picking you up bring pillows to cushion your sides & belly. It was a life saver for me. Also stop & get out & walk about every hour. She R

Hi Carol, I had my surgery at Shands in Gainesville and spent the night before surgery in a hotel. I stayed in the hospital for 5 days and yes, I was able to ride back home, but immediately before and after discharge I got the "dry heaves". Believe me that was one miserable ride back to Orlando. I was released to drive after four weeks, but waitied longer simply because I just had no energy. Good luck and my prayers are with you.
