Surgery in Ocala next week!

Hi everyone, I joined the site several months ago, when I was only researching the surgery...and I'm going in for my Laproscopic RNY on Tuesday! I'm posting on the Florida board because I am hoping someone else has been to the doctor I'm seeing. Has anyone had their surgery done with Dr. Overcash in Ocala? Please let me know, and ASAP! Hi Lenore! I had my surgery with Dr.Overcash on June 2nd. I have not had any complications and my incision is small and completely healed. I had Open RNY and am very pleased with the results and the care I have received both at the hospital and in his office. Good luck with your surgery Amy

Lenore, Congratulations of getting a date. I don't know anything about Dr. Overcash but have heard many on this board mention him over the last year.

I had open RNY with Dr O 10 months ago! i would recemmend him to anyone anyday of the week! he is WONDERFUL, good luck sweetie! keep us posted

I had surgery with DR. O on 6/22/04 he did a great job, incision has healed nicely, no problems so far. Best of luck and if I can answer any specific questions for you please feel free to email me. Michelle Guess

Lenore, I live in Ocala and I chose Dr. Jawad as my surgeon, but I'd be happy to visit you the day after your surgery if you think you'll feel up to some company for a few minutes. If you like to be alone when you don't feel good, I completely understand and it won't hurt my feelings in the least! I am in ORMC every day, so it's not like it's out of my way! In any case, I wish you the best of luck!!

Lenore, Congrats on your upcoming surgery. I had surgery on April 28th at ORMC with Dr Jawad. I have not heard anything bad about Overcash other than the fact that he only does open RNY...I wanted mine laproscopic and that is why I chose Jawad. I have had no complications and am down 48 lbs....I wish you nothing but success and and a speedy recovery. We have a WLS Support group that meets monthly for people in the central florida area, we meet in Altamonte Springs.
