I was told by my doctor to get more protein. I hate meat and eggs make my stomach hurt. I don't mind drinking a couple of protein shakes a day but what about soy crisps??? They are so yummy! Am I just fooling my self in to thinking these can be used as a substitue for at least *some* meat protein? Kallen

Kallen, Getting in all your protein thru meat and eggs would be difficult for most of us. I am not a big meat eater myself, so I HAVE to supplement my protein intake with shakes and bars. I try to get at least 40g in thru shakes and bars during the day then another 35g through other foods. I dont know how much protein is in soy crisps but I'm sure it would be ok to use that to help you get your protein in each day. I just tried soy crisps for the first time yesterday, I had the Stacy's caramel version and they were better than I expected. I eat cheese and yogurt almost daily to help me get more protein in. One thing that was recommended by my nutritionist was to add some powdered skim milk to your LF or NF milk to up the protein count then you can drink it or use it to cook with, such as in cream soups or LF puddings, etc. Unfortunately for me, I am now lactose intolerant, so dairy products are "iffy" for me. Good luck Amy

Thanks Amy. I just hate any heavy greasy food. besides feeling like I swallowed a brick it puts me to sleep for hours. I like the Gen-Soy Barbeque flavor. 25 crisps have 110 calories, 2 g fat and 7g protein. I can't see any reason why these wouldn't be a good thing! Kallen
