Question of the Day

For those of you new to the board or just new to the Question of the Day, this is just a fun way to exchange info, facts or trivia with each other. Today's question: Have you ever met anyone famous???? or are you related to anyone famous???? If so, do tell... The closest I have ever gotten to meeting anyone famous would be when I was a Cosmetics Manager at Burdines years ago and Tammy Faye Baker came in and bought a ton of Estee Lauder (and yes, she bought some mascara). Also, Benny Hinn used to come in with his body guard and buy lots of men's cologne. The only other close encounter I had was when I was in Chicago on vacation and Christie Brinkley was walking right next to me down Michigan Avenue. It is true that some people are even more stunning in person than in print or on television. Have a great day

hi Amy..how are you feeling after surgery..? As for your question, at work I met Mike Tyson...( I was directing traffic in Coconut Grove, the day the fla. marlins won the world series in 1997, when Mike's limo pulled up to me asking me if they can be let in...hehehe...I made sure I met him...then I let him in. He was actually very nice to me and yes, it was right after the ear incident. I met Cameron Diaz (very sweet and down to earth) on the set of Any Given Sunday...also met that same day Al Pacino...(no comment on him) and Jamie Foxx (Sweetheart). I met Will Smith and Martin Lawrence on the set of Bad Boys...met Michael Jordan and Scottie Pippen at a night club a few years back, met Ricky Martin in South Beach, and met the cast of Homicide, Life on the streets when they were filming in miami in 1999. Oh...and I was on the show Cops...in one of their Miami episodes...and on the spanish version of a similar show called Placas.... I might of met other people while I was working...but right now I can't remember... Amy...let me know how you feel... take care and be good...Mady

OMG, This will date me. I use to watch a show call Rifleman it starred Chuck Connor (or O'Connors ???) I got to talk to him in 1973 at the Los Angles airport in California. I was thrilled and 21 years old, her was much better looking in person. I also had dinner setting with Liz Taylor to my back in the Bahamas. That same weekend Mohammad the boxer was there, along with several other stars as it was one of his big fights. I saw them but did not talk to them. gail

Well this will date me also. Met Johnny Cash when he was very new. We set on back of his pickup truck and talked. Do believe he was interested in my aunt! Jimmie Dean, Marty Robbins, Elvis. All when they were very new to show biz...they all came to Tampa and played at the Armory, a very small place. After the shows who ever wanted to could, just set around and talked. First show I went to with Elvis, no I was not with him, the crowd all got up to leave. When he came on stage and started to sing, back in we ran. I was a kid, 16 or so. but it was great. I also did a fashion show with Edith, something, forgot her last name. She designed all the movie stars clothes way back when. She would have Trunk Shows in Tampa. I worked with the models. My Mom was one she used a lot in Tampa. She could keep all the things she modeled. A tidbit about Edith Buckhead, I think, she did not let her models wear a thing under the clothes. I thought that was awful! Think I must have been all of 19. Oh I went to school with Lee Marvin, at least he was in the boys boarding school and I was in the girls. The schools were on a lake in Pasco county. He did not last long. Got drunk and threw another boy out a window! Well that is my life. There were others when we were living in Okinawa, but the names have left me, too may years ago. Marla

My dad was in politics and along time ago in the 80's Ted Kennedy was running for the Demrocratic ticket campaining in Maine where we lived. Well John Jr was attending Brown Universtiy at the time and stayed at our house over night. He was like 20 and I was like 13. My mother gets up like a 5am every morning to do laundry and stuff and John Jr woke up in his underwear looking for the bathroom. Its a great story (but true) I never tell it becasue I live in Florida now and I dont think people would believe me. Its was very sad when he died because I always felt connected to him although he probally would never even have remembered we met. When i first moved to Florida I guarded Tom Cruise and Robert Denaro's trailers when they made days of Thunder in Daytona. When i was like 12 i met Brett Summers (from Match Game) and the red head secretary from the Bob Newhart show. My friends mom kept yelling that she was Carol Burnett. Funny. I also went to Richard Petty birthday party and carded Bobby Allison (is that the young one?) when he was in a bar (10 years ago). Im not a big race fan so at the time i had no idea who was who. I chashed Rusty Wallace across a busy street because he did not pay a bar tab. His manager was picking it up. He was a jerk. I met Dick Trickle and a bunch of other drivers but im not a fan so it didnt mean anything at the time. Now i see them on tv and its like hey ive met them. oh well angel
