had my psych on monday....ITS CRAZY...
Hello, I had my psych test on monday, and let me tell if was unlike anything i've ever seen. 10 yrs ago I had to take one as the entrance exam for a police dept...and although they were equally lengthy....The one I just took was incredible. Many of the questions had nothing to do with having my stomach surgery...she was making me do puzzles and math, etc...has anyone had a similar experienc??? and is this just part of the protocal or it is a pass or fail test.....i'm so worried and confused, please help!!!!
take care and love u all

Mady in miami
Hi Mady. I live in Miami, too. You know, I can't remember too much about my psych test.
I don't think I had math questions though.
It was mostly personal stuff -- lifestyle, family, views, goals, likes, dislikes, etc. I didn't get the results directly from the doc but I guess I passed since I had surgery 12/15/03. 8-l Good luck and let everyone know your progress.

hello..thanks for answering me...how have you been since you surgery??? The dr. told me that she would prob let me know by friday how it went...My psych test was horrible...worst than the one for my job, this test actually lasted 5 hrs...well, i hope i passed and soon be on the other side, once again, thanks for your response and hope your doing ok....Mady
You are right it is a CRAZY test.
I also could not believe some of the test questions. They repeat the same thing at least three times on some questions.
NOW that is insane.
It is not a pass or fail type of thing. If they did not tell you they wanted to see you again you should be ok. Where I had mine done they talked to us after and then set up our next appointments if it was needed. I was lucky no second visit needed.
Guess I am sane enough.

Crazy is right. My psych eval consisted of the Doc asking me questions about my weight, my outlook, my family, my feelings about my weight and general health questions. I was in there for about 45 minutes and he told me right then and there that he was going to recommend me for surgery. I am in Miami also, had surgery with Dr. Sosa. Are you sure she knew what you were there for, because I have never heard of anyone having to math quizes and puzzles.

hi Gigi, thanks for your response, you know Dr. Sosa was my second choice...but I chose dr. Marema... (the $5000 for a gym was a little too steep for me), but I guess he uses someone different for the psych. My test in total was almost 5 hrs long...I can't imagine someone alot older being put thru that torture...(i'm 32). How have you been since surgery? My best friend had it there also, her name is Jackie Hernandez, he's now weighing 140...she looks really good.
Well, take care and thanks again,
Mady
Trust me it didn't cost me $5000 but my out of pocket was high. Well worth it though. Dr. Sosa success rate is almost 100%, like 99.96%. His gym is well equipped, he takes a personal interest in all his patients, he doesn't have 1000's of patients because of the out of pocket, his staff is superior, his nutritionists, dietician, personal trainers and office staff are all very knowledgable and go out of their way to help. I love his office and he feels that when someone puts money out of their pocket they are more likely to follow the regimen. Very, very true. Not to mention that you have full follow up care for 1 year after surgery with everyone. Dietician, nutritionist, personal trainers, supplements, gym membership and Dr. Sosa. All the preop testing all the follow up testing all the different exams, psych, sleep study, everything is included in the out of pocket that you pay. Any ways, I can get off on a tangent with Sosa, sooooo... I know alot of the patients and I know Jackie. She looks great. Did you check out The Weston Clinic? Forgive me but I just don't like Marema or his office. What about Dr. Gonzalez or Verdeja?
Good luck on your quest. If you ever want to chat, email me. [email protected].
Smooches,
Gigi
