in my life.. i have not had many positve roll models...no one to truley look up and say " damn i wanna be like her"..as a child i never knew my "real' mom because of the fact that i was adopted.. being adopted left a open spot in my heart for so long and it is still there.. the questions of who i look like... whats my medical history... what does my mommy look like.. i still do not know the answers to these questions and that void and emptyness is still here.. in 9ith grade i met a lady who would be there threw everything...she once had suffterd the same mental anguish that i was facing at the time and she was the only one that i could talk to at the time..four years later we are still very close in fact closer then ever.. i finallyhave that maternl figure that i have always longed for she is my insperation and has saved my life many times.. at graduation we cried and held each other for a good 15 mins..i love her dearly ... she has tought me to be brave ... she forever will be in my heart who is your insperation and why

Good topic! I would have to say my Mom is my inspiration and it's kinda funny saying that because we had our problems in my teen years. I am the oldest of 4 girls, so I had a lot of responsibility dumped on me at a young age. My mom and dad commuted worked long hours and did the best they could. They barely made ends meet. My Mom has always been a pillar of strength. I have seen her persevere through some times that the average person would crumble to. I can remember one Christmas, my Mom was pregnant with my youngest sister and could not work. She has no money to get toys for Christmas let alone anything else. My Mom made friends with the Avon lady and would deliver orders for merchandise credit. She used that credit to get us girls fancy little soaps and little bottles of cologne. She tore some of her old clothes and made each one of us a rag doll by hand. No machine, just the needle and thread. Today that is one of my most treasured memories. She has always been so brave, facing colon cancer twice and bouncing back. Now, she had back surgery 2 years ago and came out partially paralyzed and is chair bound. She still fights to reverse those damages and lives with incredible pain, but again she endures. She truly is amazing!

Those are beautiful! I am not as eloquent as either of you but I have many special people in my life that inspire me. My mom was my best friend in the entire world. I watched her struggle through many illnesses, Kidney failure, a transplant, heart attacks and unfortunately the last took her at the young age of 48. What I remember most was her ability to make good come out of everything bad that happened to her. I strive to this day to honor her by doing the same. My daughter came along the same year I lost my mom and she became the light at the end of my tunnel. She has helped me grow and to become the mom that I was meant to be and I cherish her love and respect. She is ten with a heart of gold and I see my mom so much in her. She inspires me every day to do my best and to be someone she wants to look up to. Last but certainly not least is my partner, Lisa. She is a survivor. She has such a strong spirit and a wonderful heart. She has helped me reach goals I never thought I could obtain. She has given me a future with hope. She is the love of my life and my best friend. Her and Rene'...they are my home. They are my inspirations. Thanks for letting me share!
