Linda, I did a little research at Dr Murr's web site. Found the following: If you do not have a PCP, or if your current PCP is not supportive of this surgery, we will be happy to provide you with a list of "obesity friendly" PCP's. www.zbmi.com Marla

Neil, do you have a sugeron you will be using? Perhaps he/she can direct you to a PCP in your area. Also call your insurance company, ask them for list of doctors that have used as PCPs prior to WLS. There is a yahoo group on WLS started in south Florida. Try searching Yahoo groups. They should know doctors in So FL. Good Luck, Marla If you email me direct, I will give you the Yahoo group address. [email protected]

My Pcp is a sweetheart. Dr. Robert Dean (727)787-4383. He fought for 3 years to help me get the surgery. He has 2 offices Tampa Rd by Mc Mullin Booth Rd. 2) Westchase off of Gun Highway. I love him. He helped save me. I had my surgery May 7. He encouraged me every step of the way. Even when I was down.

Linda: I have Humana Gold Plus, I live in St. Pete. My PCP is Dr. John Kern. He referred me to the WISH Center in Tampa after reseaching. Dr. Dietrick will be my surgeon. Humana Gold Plus, if this is the same that I have, will pay the WISH Center for all pre ops that they do on the 1st evaluation. They also cover the surgery 100% with a referral and then the hospital cost will be $200 per day. Dr. Kern's office could refer you to someone close to you. Wendy and Sara at his office have been wonderful and supportive to me. Good luck! ~Tina~
