Has BC/BS approved anyone for LapBand Surgery?

I am insured by another company right now, but may be switching to Blue Cross/BLue Shield (Blue Care or Blue Card??) I was wondering if anyone here was approved/denied by them for the LapBand procedure. Lori Brandon, FL

I have Atnhem BS they denied considered it still exp. surgery. I have been told that BS does not cover the LapBand. It never hurts to call and check. Good Luck!! Melinda Lap RNY 10/17/03 -87lbs

I don't know about lapband but I saw on the news tonight that BCBS of Florida will no longer do gastric bypass as of January 05 so I would really push to get any wls you needed before that time.
