Dr. Szomstein's Office Staff @ Cleveland Clinic

I am sooooooo angry and frustrated! I am currently scheduled for surgery on 12/2 -- have NHP as my insurer. I called Dr. Szomstein's office today to schedule my pre-op appt. and was told to call back in Nov. (which is only 3 days away -- this was after being placed on hold for 25 minutes). I asked if my paperwork had been submitted to ins. co. and was told by Carmen "Yes it has". When I further inquired as to the date of submission I was passed on to Anita. Anita put me on hold for another 10 min. and then informed me that "No it hasn't" because she was "waiting for my diet history". I told her that was in my quesionnaire and she informed me that that is not what she needed. She needs 6 mo. of medically supervised diet history. I asked her why no one bothered to call and she said "Letters went out I guess you didn't get yours". I am so frustrated! I am on an emotional roller coaster. I asked her to submit the paperwork anyone (as I know someone who has NHP and had her surgery last week -- without the 6 mo. diet history). She said fine, she'll submit it but I will be denied. I cannot believe the careless, ambivalent attitude. I feel like crying! Anyway, thanks for listening everyone.

Dear Rosemary, if you see my profile you can see that I just passed thru some problems too, 4 days before my surgery I was denied...etc eetc... you have to understand that these people in Dr. Szomstein and Rosenthal's office are very very busy, they just want things to go smoother, be patient, try to calm down and make stronger steps to get what you want, be patient, make some calls, try to get some nutricionist, personal trainer, or therapist letters, just try, make calls, call friends, known people, to what you have to do but get it, talk to your PCP. I hope you get your surgery done soon I I wish you the best of luck!
