No Insurance, little-No cash, Is there any help?
I was wondering if there are any programs that will help with the financial aspects of this surgery. I don't qualify for medicaid, they say my husband makes to much money, but truth is we're just getting by week to week. We have NO insurance and 20,000 for surgery is money we just don't have. Any suggestions? Is there any help out there?
Hi Joyce,
I can relate to what you say. "They" always say we make too much money, but "they" don't pay our bills. I've been in that same boat many times before. About a year ago, when I didn't have insurance, I was referred to Dr. Ponce, in GA. He has a, sort of, financing that allows you to pay an amount up front and then payments monthly. I don't know the exact way this works, but I do know that IF he's still offering this, all you do is call and tell the office your situation and they will send you the info. in the mail. Maybe other surgeons are doing this as well, it wouldn't hurt to ask. I know I had a similar arrangement with an orthodontist, I was able to finance what was not covered by insurance. Just an idea, can't hurt to ask. Good Luck and please keep us posted on what you find out.
hi, sorry to hear about your situation.......hope this info helps you out. the wish center in tampa has a program for setting up payments, i've also heard that they have done a few surgeries for free(which was hush hush i was told) you can visit their website at wishcenter.org to find out info. does the company your husband work for not have insurance? if i were you i would try for medicaid again but its hard finding a dr now that takes medicaid, thats the problem i have been having. good luck and take care.....tammy
