Thanks for all your insight guys.. I seem to have gotten through it now with a breakthrough today - I have felt good all day and tonight I ate a really decent meal (chicken, refried beans, rice, salsa) with no problems at all. Just tiny amounts of each of course, and I chewed until it was liquified... I also got all my pills taken today with no troubles. I don't have any pain at all from my incision now and it's healed completely. Looks pretty good, too! Thanks, Dr. H. I bought a scale since I couldn't stand to wait three more weeks to weigh in at my doctor appointment and depending on the difference between scales, I am now weighing 40 pounds less! I will check my scale's accuracy to Dr. Haicken's next time I'm in just to be sure. I am so happy this is working out well for me. I am just hoping not to get strictures or seromas or hernias. One day at a time, right? Have a great week, everyone!

Georgine - I am so glad that you are feeling better and are back to eating and being able to digest your pills with no issues. I was reading online about Life After Obesity Surgery and it states, "You may hear other patients who are given different guidelines following their morbid obesity surgery. It is important to remember that every bariatic surgeon does not perform the exact same weight loss surgery procedure and that the dietary guidelines will be different for each surgeon and each type of procedure. What is most important is that you adhere strictly to your surgeon's recommended guidelines. The following are some of the general accepted dietary guidelines an obesity surgery patient may encounter: · When your start eating solid food it is essential that you chew thoroughly. You will not be able to eat steaks or other chucks of meat if they are not ground or chewed thoroughly. · Don't drink fluids while eating. They will make you feel full before you have consumed enough food. · Omit desserts and other items with sugar listed as one of the first three ingredients. · Omit carbonated drinks, high-calorie nutritional supplements, milk shakes, high-fat foods and foods with high fiber content. · Avoid alcohol. · Limit snacking between meals." At this point, there is NO way I would even try to start eating real food like you, so you've got that much more on me - enjoy!
