RNY scheduled for 10/7 @ Celebration - anyone else?
I'm totally the same way.... especially since my surgery was scheduled - I've been on this sight non-stop since then. I've asked a bunch of questions, or read questions others have and try to read all the post on the post-op experience (good and bad).
I know I'm making the right choice when I take my son to the park and I can't even keep up with him - I just feel like if I don't do this now I won't be there for him in 10 years. I need to get healthy and this is the tool that will help me get there.
btw - what side of town do you stay on? I'm over by UCF....

Hi Ladies!
I am one of Dr. Kim's Lapband patients and I have to say Emily you are in good hands!
I love Dr. Kim and his staff - Michael is the office is a SWEETHEART and everyone seems to genuinely care about what's going on with you!
I had my band on June 16, 2009 and it's one of the best things I have ever done... Since I started my journey with Dr. Kim's office on July 31, 2008 I have lost a total of 55.5 pounds. I can't believe the difference it makes. I have a personal goal of about 60 more to go but we'll see where things are then. For example we went to La Nouba earlier this year (January) and my butt SQUEEZED into the seats and going up and down the stairs to the bathroom was exhausting. Fast forward to September and I had room in the seats AND made 4 trips to the bathroom with my son, never got winded once.
I know you're having the bypass but if there's anything you would like to know please let me know I would be glad to try and answer!

Hi Kristina - thanks so much for your post!!! I had my first pre-op appt yesterday with Dr Kim and I agree with you.... he really is awesome!! I felt so much better after my 1:1 with him. I know I made the right choice in surgery and surgeon.
OMG - and I love Love LOVE Michael!!!! He is too funny - I've been chatting with him ever since he called me to schedule my appt and yesterday he had me in tears I was laughing so hard. Everyone from Bill, Jennifer, Vanessa - everyone - was so friendly.
Your success is such a huge motivation for me. Thanks for sharing your story - maybe we'll see each other at one of the support group meetings!! :)

You're Welcome! :)
Michael is my favorite.. I agree though everyone is great in that office!
Silly question - have you been in the bathroom? That toilet is the biggest any of us had ever seen! :)
I try to go to the support groups as much as possible - while I don't lose as fast as the RNY patients everyone's success is a huge motivator.
I know his rules are a pain in the rear but I can't stress how important they are to follow -they work and he knows what he's doing! :)

Hello and congratulations on your upcoming surgery. Dr. Kim did my RNY surgery last November 17 and I'm down 157 pounds. Dr.Kim is one of the most skilled surgeons I have ever met (and I'm an RN). You're right about his office staff. I'd also like to drop one more name that hasn't been mentioned - Sharon. She is just the best! If you remember to follow all the instructions carefully, this will work for you. Get ready for an exciting ride! See you at support group.
