Just got off phone with GI and he said that instead of me postponing the surgery that it would be beneifical for the surgeon to follow up and go ahead and do a biopsy while he is in for the surgery instead - no need to go to see GI too.

Glad to hear it. I know I was certainly not relishing the thought of a liver biopsy when they were thinking of doing one on me. This way you won't feel a thing for sure. Also, if you don't have anything wrong but fatty liver, then your enzymes will probably go back to normal after surgery. Good LUck!

Yes, my surgeon did a biopsy when he did the WLS. However, don't be fooled that fatty liver isn't a problem. That is what caused my cirrhosis and it is definitely non-reversible damage. However, since I've had WLS, it isn't getting any worse. Linda in Jax
