Last appt complete - Psych visit went well with Dr. Noel Figueroa, MD

Appt was 7/23/2003 @ 3:30. First impression was that this office did not have its stuff together since I was directed to a different office and then had to drive back to the area I just drove from. Finally I got there and had to fill out the required paperwork and ended up waiting beyond my scheduled appointment, because he was still in with his earlier appt. I started getting frustrated and then was called back by Noel. After speaking to Noel, my overall opinion changed regarding the entire visit. I had the suggested letter with me, which I pulled from this site and he was very aware as to why I was there for my visit. He then redirected his focus on the issues spelled out in the letter and said that he would recommend me for the surgery and be sure to cover everything in the letter. I was also surprised that I had no co-pay or any repeated visits. I just read a horror story regarding psych eval from a lady from MO, so I feel blessed that I ran across a GREAT and supportive psych. Well it's hard to believe that after @ 3 months of appointment - this is my very last one - now comes the waiting period! Here's hoping to a short time for the insurance company to approve my claim for the surgery.

Glad that your psych eval went well, Anita. I have United Select EPO and they do not require a psych evaluation from what Patrice told me. I am so ready for this and I, like you, am hoping for a short wait for approval. I went out with my MIL (age 88) today to take her shopping and get some lunch. While out, I bought a sippy cup, baby spoon, baby oatmeal, some powdered milk and CIB, sugar-free. I imagine that the check-out person thought I needed a psych evaluation when I told her that those items were for me, when she asked. LOL
