I WON my appeal
I posted couple of weeks ago that I was denied for the surgery from Cigna PPO. My surgeon appealed the insurance decision and we WON. I am soooo excited. I am waiting for the surgeons office to call me with a date. I still cannot believe this. All you folks out there...fight. If the insurance company says no...you need to appeal. I wrote a letter telling them this is my life I am trying to save. I even sent them pictures of my kids. Make them feel your pain that they have to say yes. Good Luck to of you who are fighting for your life.
Oh Congratulations Sharon! You put on your gloves and won...LOL, I am a pre-op patient of Dr Rosenthals, and have a surgery date of October 1st, his office does this a little differently, you receive date and then 30 days before they submit to Insurance Company. I hope to be approved on first try..keeping everything I can cross..crossed! again congratulations!
Congratulations!!!!!!That's wonderful.I am so glad everything worked out for you.I think you're right on target when you said to make them feel your pain.Sometimes people don't see that this surgery is often the only hope we have for a "normal" life.We deserve a shot at living life to the fullest.......and I am so glad that you and other brave people have fought for that shot. Thanks for not giving up.WOOOOOOOHOOOOOO!!!!! T.
Wow that is great I am currently fighting Cigna myself ... Any hints or tips on what I can do to get approved? My surgeon's office will not help though. I am fighting till the end but no one is telling me what to do , where to start...
Any insight greatly appreciated/// Congrats again !! I want to be a looser too!!!!

Sharon -
What WONDERFUL news - guess it helps to be persistent! I am so happy for you! I hope that your waiting period won't be too long. My thoughts and prayers are with you during your WLS journey and I pray that the Lord's hands rest on your surgeon's hands - guiding him in the surgery and for your uneventful recovery phase.
