He has not done the DS for a number of years.  The only reliable lists of vetted DS surgeons are found at either DSfacts.com or duodenalswitch.com

Yes he is a COE surgeon and his facility of use Munroe is also a COE certified facility.  His insurance person however is not up on Medicare coverage.

As far as I know there are no surgeons in FL that do the DS. I just traveled to TX to have mine done. Good luck to you.

Hi Storm
I have found 3 that do DS and revision to DS in Florida.  Dr. Mirman, Dr. Hoddinott, Dr. Overcash.  I did have a consult with Dr. Overcash and I personal message with one of his DS patients that is 2 years post-op and very happy with her results.  However I would like to speak with more than one of his DS pts before making a solid decision.  After I get my stress test done, Dr. Overcash will put me on the surgery schedule for my revision from lap band to DS.  I am still on the fence with this.  I really like Dr. Husted and it looks like I might be staying with him and waiting for his COE certificate.
Carla

I like you, will have some travel time approx 18-hours to have my DS with Dr. Husted.

I originally considered Dr. Overcash for a RNY. That was before I learned of the DS. I am not familiar with the other 2 md's. This is just my opinion, but, a revision is the most risky of all WLS. If I were you I would want the most experienced of surgeons. Of the surgeons you are considering Dr Husted would definately be my choice. Again, just my opinion. Good luck in your decision.
