Celebration Hospital - Dr. Keith Kim

Hi Carrie - I was re-reading messages and found yours about surgery on the 27th? I'm assuming that was yesterday. How did it go? Hope you aren't feeling too badly. Please let me know how it went. Did you get your "pre-diet" on track? I'm weighing in today for month #2 and I know I haven't done well. Hubby had some major heart problems this past month and of course food was my comfort zone.

I am planning on going to the info meeting on Wed. July 22, 2009.  I am feeling this thing out.  My doctor has recommended Dr. Kim highly.  His wife is a Dr. Kim patient.  I am really nervous about the whole thing but I need to do something and this seems a logical step.  How long does insurance approval usually take.  Hope to see one or all of you Wed.

I'm definitely planning to have my RNY with Dr. Kim, hopefully by January or Feb of next year. I've been to two of the seminars and they're great!

My surgery went well and I came home 4 hours later.
I am sore and feel like I have run a marathon but tolersting all the fluid I have had.

I rediscovered my love of warm tea, it helps me so much
I didnt cheat on my fluid diet and lost 12 pounds before surgery.


I had such a great experience with Dr Kim and his staff, I can tell how much they made me feel so good.
The hospital staff were fantastic.

Hello all    I am also a newbie here and had attended two initial meeting with Dr Keith Kim with Celebration Hospital FL.  I am contemplating having the sleeve surgery.  A co-worker had the sleeve surgery and she looks wonderful.  Unfortunately my insurance does not cover the cost so I am self pay.  I am looking into getting a home equity loan to cover the cost.  So I am on my way................Oh and I live in Clermont FL which is next door to Minneola   Hello neighbors !!

Lorraine,I have been away from the board for awhile so I know you asked this about a month ago. I had the sleeve surgery with Dr. Kim 2 years ago. He is wonderful and very responsive if you ever need to get in touch with him. He was transitioning from US bariatric to his own practice during the first year after my surgery. He seems to have the same staff so I can concur that the whole team is great. I am returning to see him in October for a 2 year check up. I have lost 92 lbs. I still have about 30 lbs. to go. The hospital was wonderful and there were no surprises. I was a self pay and have not regretted taking out the loan. Susan
