The # for Dr. Gruniero's office is (941)258-3279. His office is in Port Charlotte at 2595 Harbor Blvd., STE 102. The support group is the next door right past his office, it's attached to their office suite. The program is called "Peace River Bariatrics" and there is also another Dr. that also does the bariatric surgery - he is part of Peace River Bariatrics but has his own office elsewhere and as far as I know his support group is on the first Thursday of every month. His name is Dr. Iqbal and his office # is (941)258-3385. Hope this helps. Becky

Hi, I was just reading the info. on the support group. Can you tell me if anyone can go or is it just for that Dr.? I am having my surgery done out of state-GA. but I need to find a local support group. Also is the group for any type of surgery? I'm having the VSG done. Thanks for your help. My Dr. (Dr. Gruniero) only does Lap Bands and RNY. He talks about both at the support groups and gives attendees time to ask questions. I think anyone can attend, it's all for information purposes - but just to let you know they do not discuss VSG. I say go ahead and give it a try, even though it's not the surgery you are interested in - you will be able to get all kinds of pointers from people who have had their surgeries and just hear some good success stories while being around others who are all striving toward the same goal. This group is a peer support led group welcoming pre and post ops, all surgery types, all surgeon offices welcome.
