Tri Care Prime with Dr. Lord

I am a little confused, My PCM and other friends have told me I don't pay a dime for anything. That is including Administrative Program Fee, surgery, hospital stay, dietician, behavorial theraphy and whatever else is required after surgery. I went to a Seminar with Dr. Lords and They said that insurance will not pay for Administrative Program Fee, that is where I am confused.  Will Tri Care Prime cover that Administrative Program Fee? If not, will the doctor take payments on that fee?
Thanks

I am Retired with Tricare-Prime. I have a different surgeon, but I did have to pay their administrative fees and for the nutritional consult. A few hundred dollars compared to the thousands for the surgery itself was not very bad. Tricare picked up everything for the surgery except for those fees and the copays for the hospital. They are also very quick to approve. As far as payments, your doctor may take payments, but I am pretty sure it will all have to be paid by your surgery date, be sure to ask them that question as you pursue your journey.

Thanks.
I am trying to contact Tricare-Prime. I have a little problem with the fee, but I have to have this surgery done. So I am going to figure something out for this. Hopefully they will take payments.
Again Thank You.

I had Tricare also and I had to pay the fees.  My daughter used them too and she had to pay the fees.  No way around it.

Yep. I just wanted to cover all my bases before anything happened. I did call Tricare-Prime. They did say I have to pay the fees. Like I said Not a Problem. Years ago Tricare paid half of certain fees, but then again I WAS on Tricare Basic. So I am still going to have the surgery done. I understand why they will not pay for that fee.
Thank You all for you information! Now on with all the appointments and proceedings!

How long after your tricare prime referral did you pay admin. fees,  take classes,  and have surgery?

You might find a surgeon that does not charge a program fee.  Many do not.

My husband brought up a good question. If I get the Lap Band, Will TriCare Prime pay for the fills?  I know how much it is, quite a bit too.  I told him we will just have to call them again and ask or we can just wait for the consult with the doctor. I think I just need to start writing these questions down so I can ask them. I am forgetfully.
Well anyways
Hope all is well with everyone else! Take Care and God Bless

Tricare pays for all of my fills... my dr included EVERYTHING I will need for this surgery into the cost of the surgery. That included any follow up, program fees, appts with nutrition, ANYTHING... I would talk to your dr again. A few other people I know in different states havent had to pay anything either. Please look into all this. It doesnt really sound right to me.
