Introduce Myself!

I'm Jennifer.  I'm a 30 yr old single mom looking to have the RNY surgery.  I have been on this board for a few months, but can't figure out how to get any friends on here...  I know I'm a fat girl, but c'mon!! jk...  Anyway, I have been to the consult, done the 6 month diet, went to the shrink, heart dr, etc.  My packet was submitted to insurance 2 wks ago and now I'm patiently waiting.  I would really like to meet some people on here that would like to talk.  I haven't mentioned to any of my friends about surgery and talking to my mother is getting old!

is there a reason why your not telling your friends? you'd be supruise to find out they know others who have had these surgeries. Also seek out the live support groups in your area as you live close to Jacksonville. It's best to have close friends as were on here but across the state. I'm in Clearwater/Tampa Bay.

Post on here of putting together a "Meet 'n'Greet" somewhere up there, even in Middleburg or at a Mall. You'll meet friends through that. On here their putting together one for SouthEast florida M&G. I may put together one for in the Fall possibly going to Busch Gardens and lining up a hotel close by for stay overs having a M&G at the hotel the night before going to the Gardens.

Look under Support Groups above maybe thinking of becoming an OH Support Group Leader and starting a group in Middleburg. There are perks to being an OH Leader. Such as getting into OH Events for free and free OH Magazines. There an OH event in Atlanta in the Fall.

I'm on my way to getting the RnY as well.  I'm in Jacksonville..so kind of close to you.

I started attending my surgeon's support groups and while it's nice to be around others who have had the surgery most of them are considerably older than I am!!!

What doctor/hospital are you going through?  I'm on my 5th month of a doctor supervised diet..so it's getting close.  I can't wait!

Hello!! I hope you get your approval soon!! I didn't tell anyone about my surgery, not even my mother.  The only one that knows other than my Dr and his staff is my husband.  And of course the people on this site.  If you ever want to chat, just send me a message.  I love to talk lol

I am looking to have RNY in Ft LAuderdale. I understnad what you are saying about finding friends. I have been on for awhile and not found any. I am waiting to get my psyc letter then I can file as well. Good luck! If you want to talk just let me know!
