You are better off posting on the VSG board, or the insurance board, this forum is very slow.
Good luck!

I am not sure the VSG is covered under Tricare.  The policy states that gastric bypass, vertical banded gastroplasty, lap band and gastric stapling are covered benefits.  However, if you are having the surgery done on a military installation you may be able to have the VSG done.  I know a woman who was able to have the DS done at an Air Force hospital.

I don't think Tricare covers VSG. I just had RNY and it was done at a civilian hospital. I was referred by my PCM. I know what you mean about the military operating on you. LOL I feel the same way.

Tricare does not cover VSG.  The only time they do is if you travel to their teaching hospital you you let them "practice" on you will they pay for it.  They only cover banding and RNY.
