Sclerotherapy Procedure

I'm not at all sure that Munroe Regional is doing the Stomaphyx procedure anymore.

Jan, where did u hear this information..because Im in discussion with Dr. Hoddinott about getting this done..if they didn't do it he wouldn't offer it me as an alternative,  so I don't believe that is true. Dr. Hoddinott & Munroe do the procedure.

I was under the impression that Dr. Overcash was one of only 4 doctors that do the procedure and didn't know that Dr. Hoddinott was also trained in this now.  I stand corrected.

Yes was in the beginning it was like that......however more drs are getting involved.althought not sure of the numbers in FL.  Dr. Hoddinott is bariatric surgeon from Munroe and is working in Dr. Overcash's office as well. I was told by Cathy that Dr. Hoddinott is not a partner of Dr. Overcash but he is in the office and working at Munroe. He just did the schlerotherapy on me and is working pretty good but my pouch is enlarged and since he does the stomaphyx that will be my next step. Presently Dr. Overcash is giving seminars on the Stomaphyx and Esophyx (to repair the esphogus & acid reflux) so one or the other is doing it.

I thought that Dr. Hoddinott was hired more or less by the hospital.  Have you seen Dr. Overcash lately?

Yes, on both accounts. He has been more active giving out of town seminars on the stomaphyx and Esophx procedures. But I did see him on 9/29 which was my 4 year anniversary of the surgery. If he's not out doing a seminar I should see him tomorrow.

I will be interested in whether you see him or not.

Did you see Dr. Overcash??  I ask because I notice that his name is no longer on the Munroe Hospital website and had heard that he was possibly not practicing in Ocala.
