Help, I'm new here!!

I am new here and would like some input on the Lap Band surgery.  I was wondering if anyone has had surgery with the Gainesville surgery group.  Dr. Brient and Dr. Pickens.  I have been researching this for quite some time and now I am ready to take the plunge!!  My insurance is BCBS Health Options--Anyone had any luck with this insurance carrier??   Any advice would be great!!  Thanks,

Hi and welcome.  I cannot help you but I'm sure someone will come along that will.   I do want to say something about the Lap-Band though.  Do your research and make sure it's what you can live with.  I thought I did and 2 1/2 years later I realize I made a mistake so I'm up for revision to DS...I should have never done the Lap-Band.  I'm not saying you should have one surgery over another, just make sure that what you decide upon matches your lifestyle.  Looking back I wish someone had given me this same advice.  All the surgeries are tools, you just need to make sure you choose the right one for YOU.  That said, I wish you the best of luck in your journey!
