I plan on having my VSG through Dr. Webb.  I was just curious if anyone had any input on their experiances with him.  Also I want to know if ya'll have a post-op support group locally. Thanks! Melissa

Dr. Webb did my RNY over two years ago.

He really is at the top of his "game."  He and his three colleagues are very good at post-op care.

When I had complications, Dr. Webb was RIGHT there staying on top of things and trying to resolve them quickly before things got out of hand.

As for post-op support, Dr. Webb has various support groups via Laproscopic Weight Loss Surgery.

Check out their website for more info.

I know that lapwls has their own post-op group I just didn't know if anyone got together any other times than the support meetings?  I have no doubts about him being my doctor. Infact my MIL is gonna use him along with one of her friends.  I haven't personally met him but I loved the office and I saw that his surgical abilities are outstanding.  He has a great track record. Thank you for your reply... were you a selfpay? Melissa

Yes, I was self pay.  My insurance had an exclusion clause.

I thought I remembered talking to you before about Dr. Webb but I couldn't remember if you were a self pay.  I am gonna apply with Capital One.  Did you?  If so how did they pay you or the doctor? Thanks!

Captial one----and the $$ went straight to Dr Webb via LAPWLS... Jarrod made all the arrangments.  I got ONE bill, when I shouldn't have.  I called Jarrod and he took care of it.

I like that... I wouldn't want to be held accountable for paying the doctor with that kind of money!  Any details one Capital One?  I have their number and all but  wasn't sure how difficult they are to deal with?  We can't apply online since we have a fraud block on our account so I will have to call...  I am applying in June when I get back up to my mom's (Middleburg).  That way I have settled in and begun working.  My husband is going to apply since he has the most income, and the better credit.  My credit is great as far as on time... no lates.  But my maximums are really close.  Is Jarrod someone in LAPWLS' office?  I haven't gotten that far. I have spoken to Julie and Megan so far. My seminar is June 12th and my consult is the 13th (I guess with the coordinator).  I am really excited!!

I applied online.... and was approved within hours!!

You can actually apply at LAPWLS office too.

Jarrod... he is Megan's husband...he runs the "business/website" end of LAPWLS.  You'll meet him.. he is TALL!!

Good Luck on all the steps you are going thru and that there are "no hitches in your giddyup."

Hi Melissa:  I have a pre op and post op support group and though none of us have had the VSG, we all have the same types of eating problems and learn from each other.  We have RNY (Dr. Webb's) patients and some banded patients.  We've been in existence for over two years now, meet on the 1st and 3rd Saturdays of the month and either go out for lunch together or bring our lunch and just stay at the meeting, eat our lunch and visit. We'd love to have you join us, even pre op.  I'd love to add you to the email list, if you'd like.  Just let me know. Dr. Webb was not my surgeon, as you can see. But he's an outstanding surgeon.  Very few rules at the meeting but one is that you can't talk down a surgeon you didn't choose.  Just because he wasn't the one for me, doesn't mean he's not the right one for you.  Another rule:  no talking down a surgery you didn't choose.  I'm banded.  That's not for everybody.  To each his own. La Wanda

La Wanda I totally agree in regards to your rules.  I wouldn't expect anything less.  After all it is a help group!  I'd love to be added once I settle in.  I am moving back up to my mom's in June.  I am gonna ask you to be my 'friend' so I can write you once I get back home. Thanks for the invite and I am looking foward to meeting you, as well as the others! Melissa
