Surgery next week

I'm new to this message board and have tried to fill out most of the stuff as well as I can, but I still don't know how to ask for an angel or upload a picture for the avitar!  Any help is welcome. Has anyone had surgery with Dr. Moises Jacobs at Mercy Hospital in Miami?  If so, how was the experience? Debbie in Jupiter

Hi Debbie It seems you are doing fine.  I havent had surgery yet since i am still finding doctors who take medicaid. I know that Dr Jacobs has an excellent reputation , I know several nurses who speak very highly of him at Mercy. As far as the avatar, what i did is go into photobucket.com  searched for the avatars copied and sent to my documents then i uploaded it to the site.  Best wishes Maria 

Thank you so much for the reply and advice.  I am a bit nervous.  Since my insurance will not pay for the sleeve, I have to pay myself.  It makes things go alot faster, maybe too fast.  My first appointment with Dr. Jacobs was in the begining of March.  So far I have had a Cardiologist, Internal Medicine and GI consult, Blood work, nuclear stress test, echocardiogram, holter monitor and an upper endoscopy (on Thursday!) .  Not to mention classes on nutrition, pain management, physical therapy and a support group.  I haven't had time to get nervous.  Good luck to you and God Bless. Debbie, just curiosity I have seen several post on insurance and they have paid for the Gastric Sleeve. I would recommend that you read the post carefully there are some that actually give you the  codes the different insurance use.  My brother has an insurance that said that they would cover the surgery however when i called Dr Jacobs office they said that insurance wont pay for the surgery and he would have to be self pay.  He is now going thru Dr. Wizman in Hollywood. Curiosity  Did the insurance tell you they will not pay or you just went by what the Doctors office told you. Let me know and Good Luck Maria

The insurance company told me they would not pay for this particular procedure.  I'm going to pay and fight it out with them later.  I am from the healthcare industry and have a few tricks up my sleeve (smile) too! Debie

Hi Debbie I will be busy these next few days, but just wanted to say good luck on your surgery. It turns out I will be seeing Dr Eddie Gomez  he is Dr Jacobs partner and he takes my insurance.  I have the information session on the 23rd at Mercy Hospital. Then from there i hope that it goes smoothly. My prayers are with you for a speedy recovery. Maria
