I haven't had surgery yet, But I see people post the same thing all the time so you are NOT alone..... Everyone I've seen reply to these post say to go back to the basics, just like when you first got out of surgery. Hope that helps, I'm here for you, Tiffany

Hey there,
We have all have had struggles and have made bad choices. My surgeon insists that we are not addicted to food, we are addicted to CARBS! If you can try to do liquids for a few days as a carb detox, it would really help. If not, go back to the basics- protein and veggies only.
Relapses happen, I relapsed back into the disease of obesity and re-gained quite a bit of weight last year during a deep, dark depression. I utilized the help of my surgeon to get a fill and to check in with the scales frequently even though I didn't want to know sometimes. I saw my PCP and was placed on antidepressants which helped my depression tremendously. I couldn't even consider eating healthy and exercising when I was so down and out on myself. I then went back to the basics and began taking it hour by hour, meal by meal, day by day. If you can have one good day, perhaps you can have another. Success breeds success. Pat yourself on the back for even the smallest successes.
Get up and walk around your house during commercials, do 2 minutes on your treadmill at a time if that's all you can do. That's where I started. Use hand weights while watching tv, get any inappropriate foods out of your house---out of sight, a little less out of mind.
Enlist help-- tell everyone you know you are struggling and you need help. Ask them to call and check on you every day. Ask them to make sure you walk every day and to check on what you're eating. Ask them not to eat sweets or foods you are craving in front of you. I have to have my kids put their snacks that they buy in their rooms so I don't have to see them when I'm struggling.
I know, I've been there- I struggle with chocolate and chips. After a few REALLY hard days without carbs, you'll begin to crave them less and less as each day goes by.
Write everything down. Your feelings, everything you eat, exercise, do whatever it takes.
Good luck,
Dawn
